ABOUT the Captain

Capt. Paul Koopmann was raised along the shores of the Long Island Sound.
At 42, he's spent many hours, days and years chasing fish along the Atlantic coastline.
If it swims and will swallow feathers or fur, he's hooked it on a fly.

This 35lb Striper was hooked on September 2, 2006 in Norwalk at sunrise on an 8wt fly rod.

Our Promise

Salty Flies is dedicated to providing you with the best fly fishing experience possible. Since Mother Nature is our partner, she often dictates when we can fish and when we should stay home. Our wind and water policy is: if it's too windy to cast a fly we don't fish.

All of our tackle is the highest quality and impeccably maintained. Orvis fly rods from 1wt to 12wt along with matching reels and line are available to use during casting clinics or charters. Our massive fly inventory imitate our local waters bait and bugs and are proven to perform.

How do you get there from I-95 ?

From locations South:
I-95 to Exit 8 (Atlantic ST STAMFORD) go 3 lights and make RIGHT onto Elm ST.
Go two lights and bear RIGHT (at Super Grade A Market) onto Shippan Ave follow through 1st light (road turns into Harbor Drive) to you get to guard booth. Go through booth about 100 feet on right is a parking pull off with boat slips on your right. Pier 3. Park near Red Durango.

From locations North:
I-95 to Exit 8 make first LEFT onto Elm ST. Go 3 Lights and bear RIGHT (at Super Grade A Market) onto Shippan Ave follow through 2 lights (road turns into Harbor Drive) to will arrive at a guard booth. Go through booth about 100 feet on right is a parking pull off with boat slips on your right. Pier 3. Park near Red Durango.
